Hana Yori Dango And Boys Before Flowers (H.Y.D Korean Version)

Hello Again!:) its been a while...I have been pretty busy working on exams and everything. And FINALY IM DONE.IM PRETTY HAPPY.So I have been watching Boys Before Flowers, which is mostly Hana Yori Dango but in Korean. And while ive been watching the show, Ive been comparing it alot to Hana Yori Dango and the characters.So lets first start to talk about the Japanese Version, and everything about it. So season 1 of HYD is consisted of 9 episodes (Which I find pretty short for such an amazing drama :) ) The show started to air from October 21st 2005 to December 16th 2005.The show was a great success and was rated 19.68%. The Show was also based on a japanese manga called Boys Before Flowers written by Kamio Yoko.

If we look closely we can see that theres a love triangle going onbetween Rui, Makino and Domyoji. And Also and love affair between Rui and Shizuka. Main Characters:Makino



Domyouji Makino Tsukushi the only poor student at Eitoku Gakuen, the school of the ridiculously rich and privileged that is ruled by Flower 4 or F4. Mao was really great through out the whole season.Well then, now let’s talk about Boys Before Flowers.Jan Di is an average girl whose family owns a dry- cleaning shop that is located near the luxurious and well-known Shin Hwa College. Jan Di meets the four richest and spoiled boys when she delivers laundry to a boy from the school one day. The Shinwa Corporation is so huge that it practically handles every type of businesses in Korea. It is successful, powerful and very influential.They established a school for the affluent members of the society from kindergarten to college. However, money does not guarantee anyone of acceptance. It is a special school with special privileges and special rules and regulations. Not the special for disabled kind of thing but the one that does not conform to the normal school procedures.Boys Before Flowers Episode 1 Part 1. All the girls adore them and all the boys… —>All the girls adore them and all the boys bow down to them. Anyone who disobeys them ends up with a red card, which means you need to get out of the school if you still want to live. Basically, you get to be the punching bag of the whole school. You become the official red target of all the bulls in the pen.Jandi Geum, our main girl was delivering clothes as they own a Dry Cleaning business to a student, Lee Min Ho. Unfortunately this guy was about to commit suicide by jumping off the rooftop. He was tagged with a red card and so everyone bullied him. He could not take it any longer so he decided to jump.Our heroine, Jandi was appalled that no one seems to be bothered by it and so she tried convincing him not to do it but failed to do so. People were appalled by the kind of students there is in that school and so they wanted an explanation and concerned citizens were discouraging the public from patronizing any establishment connected to Shinwa.The head of the Shinwa Corporation, Chairman Kang Hee Sook was quite annoyed with it and ordered her people to deal with it. Her personal assistant tried diffusing the whole thing by offering Jandi a scholarship in Shinwa University and naturally her family agreed while she was protesting.She told her parents that she doesn’t want to study there since she saw how crazy the rich students were but her parents and her little brother were adamant since it was a chance of a lifetime.The next day, she went to the school. She was quite overwhelmed by the sheer size of the school. She was looking for the swimming pool. By the way, Jandi is a competitive swimmer and the reason she was able to study is because of a scholarship granted to her because of her swimming skills.Anyway, she was lost in the “garden area” and there she met Yoon Ji Hoo who was playing a violin. As expected, the whole student body was there to fawn over them. It was the very first time Jandi saw how F4 operates especially Goo Joon Pyo, the leader of the brat pack. She was also surprised that the person she met earlier was a member of the group. Joon Pyo bullied another student just because they wore the same shirt. He poured juice over the identical shirt of one of the students.Jandi could not believe what she saw. She was quite enraged.After classes, Jandi was up in the fire escape near the rooftop shouting her frustration and cursing the F4 particularly Joon Pyo.She did not know that it was Ji Hoo’s favorite sleeping area. He heard it all and when she notices that he was there, she was quite embarrassed. He on the other hand was quite amused.During lunchtime, the silly girls were teasing her about her packed lunch. She was not affected by it. It is also there that some pretty girl, Oh Min Ji befriended her. Anyway, she told her friend, Ga Eul at work about the things that were happening in her school. Her mom is really encouraging her to take care of her look, errr…more like pushing her so she can somehow attract a future husband.The next day, in the entrance hall again, she saw how Joon Pyo smacked a cake to a student who was offering it to Joon Pyo. Talk about meanness!When the F4 was about to leave the hall, they met Jandi and she screamed at them particularly at Joon Pyo. Actually, she was not really screaming at them, it was all on her head. She was fiercely looking at him more like shooting daggers with her eyes but when she was asked by Joon Pyo, she said nothing. Ji Hoo was smiling as he somehow knew what’s going through her head.When the F4 left, Jandi was muttering expletives and cursing Joon Pyo. This is where Jandi met the three silly girls who were quite annoyed that Jandi was calling the F4 names but they let it pass because they knew that she was a transferee but warned her to be careful of her mouth and actions.Boys Before Flowers Episode 1, Part 5. Watch Now! (www.mysoju.com)The next time she met F4 again was in the courtyard. She was eating ice cream with her new found friend, Oh Ji Min. Accidentally, OJM fell and her ice cream was on Joon Pyo’s shoe.Naturally, she was very apologetic but Joon Pyo was not in a forgiving mood, as if he ever was. Anyway, he wanted OJM to lick the ice cream from his shoe and as expected Jandi interrupted and argued with him.Joon Pyo told Jandi that since she is a good friend of OJm why does she not lick the shoe instead. She bends over as if she’s about to lick then lunged toward his face with the ice cream on hand, smacking his face with it.She even paid him money for laundry services then smacked his forehead again with their family business card.Joon Pyo cannot and will not let it go just like that. The other guys acted as if nothing is amiss. The next day, Jandi gets a red tag and the whole bullying started.Boys Before Flowers Episode 1, Part 6. Watch Now!(www.mysoju.com)It started with her desk and her notebooks. It was vandalized with malicious and angry grafitti. Then everyone threw something at her, eggs, flour and the like. She was quite defiant. She also saw her only friend, OJM leaving.The F4 watched the whole thing unfold from a TV in their own private lounge. Joon Pyo said that it is just the beginning until she begs for mercy. He even was anticipating that Jandi will be on the door that moment apologising. He even counted but of course she was nowhere near them. He was quite appalled. He was so deliciously childish.Jandi was in her favorite fire escape or stairways, shouting her frustration and cursing Joon Pyo again. And just like the first time, Ji Hoo was there and heard all about it.


Ji Hoo then asked her if she knows how to make pancakes. Jandi was quite confused but answered him still. Ji Hoo, in Ji Hoo attitude, appearing dense and nonchalant while his actions say otherwise, pulled out a monogrammed handkerchief and started to wipe her face and uniform. She was surprised by the kindness and told him that she will return it. He said it does not matter since he is not coming back to that place anymore.


When she went back to her classroom, she found clean clothes and a stuffed toy with a recorded message from OJM. Her friend apologized for her cowardliness.



She just smiled and probably understands her friend’s actions.Later on, she went for a swim and the pool was full of garbage. She knew instantly that it was Joon Pyo’s doing. Meanwhile, Woo Bin and Yi Jung was quite surprised at Joon Pyo’s fixation towards Jandi. Both of them were also quite amused and they are certainly impressed that a week has already gone by and Jandi is still defiant. The very first person to stand up against F4.What’s


Extremely Bad Of The Show.
Joon Pyo’s Hair :

I cant seem to always star @ Joon Pyo’ Hair its just so weird looking I mean I know that the main character has curly hair, but I really think that he should stick with straight hair instead. For example Jun Matsumoto who also played the main role looked AMAZING and so did his hair. :) Can you see the difference.

There’s random scene where you can actually hear them talking in englishlike Yo Yo Yo or OMG which I find is really not necessairy.


The Goods on the Show.
Jan Di: I find her quiet funny and adorable, she has a cute little style. I also think that she plays her role very well.






F4:

I think that the group F4 was also well choosed, at first I wasnt so sure, but after watching them alot and carefully I grew very fond of them and their evilness. Well mostly Goo Joon Pyo’s evilness :)

But to concluded all of this I still think that Hana Yori Dango was the best and will always remain the best. Not just because Jun Matsumoto was on the show but because everything I watch that drama you’ll always find me crying and laughing and their behavior and everything.
